What is social genealogy?

Social genealogy is about understanding ancestors as real people who lived within communities, landscapes, economies, cultures, and historical events.

It asks not only who our ancestors were, but what their lives may have felt like within the world around them.

Instead of stopping at names, dates, and records, social genealogy looks at the wider human story: where people lived, how they worked, who surrounded them, what shaped their choices, and how history touched ordinary lives.
